MPD is actively exploring new products and solutions for the pump industry based on current and emerging computer technology. MPD is committed to team-member training/certifications, continued expansion of insurance coverage and R&D work. The number of services offered by MPD is expected to double by the end of 2008. Contact MPD with any questions regarding current and future services.

PROJECT SUBMITTAL PREPARATION

Businesses that bid work to larger companies and/or government agencies must provide submittal packages if they are awarded the contract. A submittal package will generally include specific equipment details, general operation description and simple layout drawings. This is to ensure that the products/services being supplied exactly meet the end customers requirements. MPD will gather all of the necessary documentation (based on the awarded contract) and deliver it in a presentation quality package in electronic form or professionally bound and indexed hard copies. Allowing industry experts to handle the tedious paperwork will free you and your personnel to focus on more important items.

OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUALS

Many large projects require an O&M manual be provided before or after project completion. The manual is typically a summary of the instructions provided with the individual system components and any special instructions reflecting the completed project as a whole. An O&M manual may include the submittal information, as-built drawings, individual equipment documentation, program hard copies and detailed instructions for dealing with a human-machine interface. As with the submittals, creating an O&M manual is time-consuming; MPD can provide a professional documentation set that will meet or exceed your requirements.

AS-BUILT DRAWINGS

As-built drawings are drafted in a CAD format and reflect the final physical configuration of a system upon completion. These drawings are used for future service reference and/or proof of meeting bid/submittal requirements. Have your drawings prepared by a certified CAD operator and delivered in any paper size or electronic format. Contact MPD for other CAD services.

EQUIPMENT PARAMETER SETUP

Most of the pump equipment offered today requires some degree of setup programming to obtain proper operation. This equipment can include variable speed drives, motor performance monitoring devices, digital flow meters and self-contained telemetry systems. Based on the customers application, MPD will provide the detailed information needed to properly set up all parameters. MPD is G&L factory certified to set up and program the Aquavar variable speed drive system. Contact MPD for a complete list of devices for which we can provide expert parameter setup advice.

PLC AND TOUCHSCREEN PROGRAMMING

Many of todays larger pump systems require the use of a PLC (programmable logic controller) and a touchscreen interface to ensure that all of the system components work together and are simple for an operator to adjust/control. MPD has completed advanced level training with the DirectLogic programming system and is currently offering custom programs for the Automation Direct/Koyo line of PLCs. MPD can also provide custom programs for EZTouch, C-more and C-more Micro-Graphic Panels. Use MPDs years of PLC and touchscreen programming experience to get the most out of your equipment. Contact MPD for examples of our programming expertise.

FIELD TROUBLESHOOTING AND SUPPORT (insurance pending)

MPD is offering field diagnostics and program repair/upgrade for non-critical computer controlled pump systems located in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. MPD can locate and repair problems with DirectLogic based PLC systems and their related components such as touchscreens and serial/Ethernet radio modems. MPD can install component firmware revisions and provide programming upgrades to improve system service or add new functionality. MPD can also troubleshoot all major brands of variable speed drives.
